St. Michael’s C of E Primary is a one-form entry school with 245 pupils on roll. We are a happy, friendly and successful school with a ‘family’ atmosphere and a strong, nurturing Christian ethos. We have a committed team of extremely talented staff, hugely supportive parents and a strong, committed Governing Board. Our wonderful children are all eager to learn and develop.
The school is situated in Flixton village which is an ancient settlement and is now a suburb of Manchester. The village has good communication links to both Liverpool and Manchester with easy railway and motorway access. Scenic countryside, such as The Peak District, The Lake District and North Wales is within easy access. Manchester, with its cultural and sporting venues, is close by, providing a wide range of entertainment for young and old. Flixton is a pleasant leafy area consisting mainly of semi-detached houses and owner-occupiers. It is part of the borough of Trafford, which is renowned for its excellent educational standards.
The school has a very positive relationship with our St. Michael’s church, and the ethos, curriculum and the environment of the school, all reflect our commitment to our Christian foundation. We inspire all children to flourish under the umbrella of our values of perseverance, collaboration, caring and excellence. -have extensive experience of primary education
-possess skills and expertise to continue to develop the highest standards of teaching and learning
-build on our OFSTED strengths and successfully address the areas of development
-understand the distinctive Christian character of a church school, expressed through its vision, values and ethos
-continue to maintain and develop links with St. Michael’s church and wider local Christian community
-be a nurturing leader who listens and makes balanced decisions
