Church Distinctiveness

Our Partnership with St Michael’s Church

St Michael’s enjoys a close and vibrant partnership with our local church, which plays an integral role in the life of our school community. This connection is rooted in a shared commitment to faith, prayer, and service. The Headteacher and the Vicar work closely together to provide mutual support through regular worship, prayerful guidance, and the sharing of buildings and resources. It is a dynamic and enriching relationship that strengthens both school and church life, offering our children a deeper sense of belonging and spiritual growth.

Reverend Huw

Reverend Huw is an integral part of life at St Michael’s. He leads collective worship regularly, bringing faith to life for our children through engaging stories, reflection, and prayer. As our school’s parish link, he visits often to support the Headteacher and ensure the strong, positive connection between school and church remains at the heart of all we do.

A dedicated father and keen sports enthusiast, Reverend Huw is actively involved in wider school life, always ready with a smile and a listening ear. His presence is a valued and joyful part of our community.

We work closely with St Michael’s Church to plan and celebrate key Christian festivals such as Christmas, Easter, and Harvest, creating meaningful experiences that bring our school and church communities together. Both school and church share a deep commitment to supporting those in need, and each year we proudly support Stretford Food Bank as part of our ongoing outreach.

As a Voluntary Aided school, the majority of our governors are appointed by the Parochial Church Council (PCC). We are deeply grateful for the wisdom, commitment, and diverse skills they bring, helping us to uphold our Christian ethos and maintain the distinctive character that makes St Michael’s so special.
